CT: Lost World

We are excited to announce our current project Celestial Tear: Lost World. CT: Lost World is an RPG about surviving the Void. Traverse from the center of a hostile land as you hunt deadly monsters harvesting their parts to survive. Eat, study and use their unique physiology to defeat your enemies as you discover the secrets of the Void and how to escape it. This is a smaller sci-fi RPG adventure about 3 Soldiers trapped on the other side of existence called the Void. They have to use their survival skills and military training to find their way home, but in doing so they unlock the dark past of the Celestial Tear.

This game came about when we were converting Demon’s Revenge to Unity. We did the numbers and we needed to make a smaller game in order to continue Demon’s Revenge to completion. We took our current system and we started to build Lost World on a much smaller budget. With that, however, we are essentially “killing two birds with one stone,” as Demon’s Revenge core systems are being completed at the same time.

With Lost World we are trying to blend survival, crafting and a small element of horror into this JPRG. We also incorporated an almost dark Pokemon theme in which we incorporated regressive elements into the monster types such as glass, alloy, plasma, plastic, chemicals, and void. We call these creatures “Gorlings” and we use elements that represented violent occurrences in the universe, and almost impermeable materials to represent how different they are from creatures of our world.

Sorvaldoid – A Void creature that feeds on fear.

The game has some survival elements in which you have to use your wits and skills to keep the recruits alive. Because these creatures are so durable, crafting is important. Using parts from slain enemies, our heroes are able to craft many different upgrades or ammunition to have an easier time defeating these otherworldly monsters. We also played around with the idea of having the player cook these creatures for sustenance for health or temporary boosts.

We have a lot more to talk about on this project in terms of location, characters, and more in-depth gameplay. You can find out more by following us on FacebookTwitter, and Instagram.
